Ideal school’s donor member Mushtaq gets bail in kidnapping case

A High Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail for six weeks to Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed, a donor member of the board of directors of the reputed educational institution Ideal School and College of Motijheel in the capital, who married an eleventh grader of the institution, in a case filed on charge of abduction.

The High Court bench of Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman and Justice Md Aminul Islam passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed by Khandaker Mushtaq.
Lawyers Md Sohrab Hossain Palash and Zahidul Haque appeared in the court hearing on behalf of Khandaker Mushtaq, while Deputy Attorney General Shaheen Ahmed Khan represented the state.
Lawyer Sohrab Hossain Palash said Khandaker Mushtaq married Sinthea Islam, an eleventh grader of the Ideal School and College of Motijheel in the capital in last March. Sinthea is now 18 yearand four months old. Her father filed a kidnapping case against Khandaker Mushtaq on June 22 this year in Thakurgaon.
A one-member investigation committee has been formed with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) in Dhaka Mamotaj Begum to probe an allegation that Khandaker Mushtaq had sexually harassed a female student of college section of the institution.

Several video footages of the eleventh grade female student of the Ideal School and College of Motijheel with Khandaker Mushtaq have gone viral on social media recently. The guardians of the institution became furious after the release of such a relationship between a senior member of the board of directors and a minor student.
