Eid-ul-Azha observed

The Eid-ul-Azha, the second religious ceremony of the Muslim Community was observed in Bagerhat district town, it’s all the nine Upazilas and villages with great enthusiasm and religious fervour as elsewhere of the country on Thursday.
On the occasion the biggest and the largest congregation of the district was held in the World Heritage and historic Saint Gumbaz mosque of the great saint Hazrat Peer Khaja Khan Jahan Ali (RA), 6 kilometer off Bagerhat district town. Some several thousand devotees including DC, District Judge and Police Super of Bagerhat participated in the congregation. The congregation was also held in the local Alia Madrasa mosque, Bagerhat district central (old Court) mosque, Mithapukur mosque, Railway mosque. Launch ghat mosque, Falpatty mosque, Nagerbazar mosque, Purtan Bazar mosque. PTI mosque, New Court mosque, Basabati Amtala mosque, Govt. P C College mosque, KB fish market mosque, Water Board mosque etc.
After the congregation prayers were offered seeking the blessings of almighty Allah for peace, progress and development of the country, her people and as well for the Muslim Ummah.
After the end of the congregation the solvent and devotee Muslims performed the Qurbani with sacrificial animals. But a good number of devotee could not perform the Qurbani for their insolvency and high prices of sacrificial animals. On the other hand, a number of owners of sacrificial animals could not sell animals for wan of buyers.
Gouripur (Mymensingh) Correspondent says : The holy Eid-ul Azha, one of the major religious festivals of the Muslim Community, was celebrated with due solemnity, sense of sacrifice and religious fervour in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on Thursday .
During this three-day festival, Muslims were mandated to slaughter designated animals such as sheep, goat, cows, and camels – depending on the availability and cultural norms of the region.
This ‘sacrifice is carried out in commemoration of Prophet Ebrahim’s readiness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to Allah. Meanwhile, many people from different places came to their village homes to elebrate the festival with their near endear ones.
The stage was almost set for smooth holding of Eid prayers in the town of Gouripur and elsewhere. The main Eid congregation was held at the Madhyabazar Bara Jame Mosque around 8:30 AM as the weather was not favorable
Besides, on Wednesday morning about 3 hundred Muslims who are followers to the Sureshuri Mazar at Shariatpur, celebrated their Eid under the leadership of Pir Syed Shahnur Abtab Parvez Nuri at village Bahadurpur of this upazila in keeping with their tradition of observing religious festivals along with Saudi Arabia.
The first Eid jamaat was held at the Darbar Sharif at 6:30 am and the second jamaat was held at 9:00 am. Moulana Mohammad Ibrahim led the Eid jamaat in Gouripur. There was separate management for women jamaat
BSS from Rajshahi reports: The main Eid-ul-Azha jamaat (congregation) of Rajshahi City was held at Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R) Dargah Mosque on Thursday.
Muhtamim of Hatemkha Jame Mosque Mufti Yeakub Ali conducted the Eid prayers.
Mayor-reelect of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and many other senior divisional and district level officials including Divisional Commissioner GSM Jafarullah and Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed offered their prayers at the main Eid jamaat.
The second and third largest congregations were held at Tikapara Eidgah and Shaheb Bazar Zero Point at the same time.
Thousands of musallis at the end of Eid jamaats offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and as well as greater welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Some other big Eid jamaats in the city were held at Rajshahi University, RUET campus, Hatemkha, Stadium Ground, Shalbagan, Alif Lam Meem Bhata Eidgah, Police Line Parade Ground, Mahisbathan Eidgah Math and Upashahar Eidgah Moidan.
After the Eid congregations, the Muslim devotees sacrificed their beloved beasts in the name of Almighty Allah.
Earlier in the morning, streams of people-young, old and children- rushed to their nearest eidgah, mosques and open places to offer the Eid prayers.
Around 150 other Eid-ul-Azha jamaats were held at traditional and temporary venues in Rajshahi metropolis.
Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) decorated the city’s important points and road islands with national and colorful flags inscribed with “Eid Mubarak”.
Meanwhile, the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the largest religious festival of the Muslims, is being celebrated in Rajshahi city and the adjacent districts with due fervor, joy and solemnity.
In addition to Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, the district, upazila and police administrations chalked out adequate security measures to celebrate the festival in a peaceful way.
BSS from Gaibandha reports : The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festivals of the Muslim Ummah, was celebrated in all the seven upazilas of the district on Thursday with due religious fervor, solemnity and spirit of sacrifice. In the morning, streams of people including the young, old and children rushed to the nearest Eidgahs, mosques and selected open places for offering their Eid-prayers.
The main Eid congregation was held at Central Eidgah Maidan, near to Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town, by the arrangement of the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Oliur Rahman, Nezarat Deputy Collector Md. Jwel Miah, district level officials, leaders of political parties, local elite, professionals and journalists joined the congregation with the festive mood.
Earlier, the deputy commissioner exchanged Eid greetings with Musallis (devotees) at the gate of the Eidgah Maidan on behalf of the district administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Oliur Rahman said the officials of district administration were working relentlessly to push forward the district towards desired development and sought their cordial cooperation to attain the cherished goal. The DC also assured the Musallis of providing all sorts of administrativ support and assistance for the progress of the Eidgah Maidan.
The other Eid congregations were also held at Gaibandha Police Lines, Gausul Azam Eidgah, Al-Falah Jame Mosque, V-AID Road Jame Mosque, PWD Jame Mosque, Gorosthan Jame Mosque, Fakirpara Jame Mosque, Khanka Sharif Jame Mosque, DC- Court Jame Mosque, Circuit House Madrasa Jame Mosque, Dhanghara Eidgah ground, David Companypara Jame Mosque and Station Jame Mosque of the town.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims, is being celebrated amid inclement weather with due religious fervor and sacrificing animals in the district Thursday.
The District Administration, Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP), Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) and law enforcement agencies have taken adequate steps to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festivity.
The main Eid-ul Azha congregations were held at the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center at 8 am followed by a second Jamaat there at 9 am due to drizzly weather.
Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament and Jatiya Party Chairman Ghulam Muhammed Quader, Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahhab Bhuiyan, Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, high officials, political leaders, professionals and civil society members participated in the main congregations.
The biggest Eid-ul-Azha congregation was held at the historical Rangpur Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque at 9 am in the city. Due to inclement weather, Eid congregations were held at different mosques in Rangpur city and across the district. Some mosques had multiple Eid congregations.
The bigger Eid congregations were held at Mulatol Alia Madrasha, Munshipara Jam-e-Mosque, Kamarpara Kutubia Jam-e-Mosque, Shalbon Mistripara Jam-e-Mosque, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Rangpur Medical College Central Jam-e-Mosque, Kamal Kachhna Jam-e-Mosque, Dhap Mohammadpur Jam-e-Mosque, Burirhat Jam-e-Mosque, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e Mosque and other mosques between 8 am and 9 am in the city.
Outside the city, bigger Eid jamats were held at Sadar Upazila Parishad Jam-e-Mosque, Mithapukur Upazila Parishad Jam-e-Mosque, Badarganj Jam-e-Mosque, Pirgachha Jam-e-Mosque, Kawnia Jam-e-Mosque, Taraganj Jam-e-Mosque, Pirganj Upazila Jam-e-Mosque and Gangachara Baro Paikan Baro Jam-e-Mosque ground between 9 am and 10 am.
The Muslim devotees participated in the Eid-ul-Azha congregations at around 6,000 mosques in the city, upazila towns and rural areas across the district with due religious passion and gravity.
They offered special munajats seeking divine blessings for eternal peace of departed souls of their relatives and continued peace and prosperity of the country, its people, Muslim Ummah and whole humanity.
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa said the Muslims are slaughtering sacrificial animals at 117 fixed spots in all 33 wards of the city and removal of animal wastes would be completed in 12 hours from 2 am.
He urged citizens to assist the RpCC authority in ensuring faster disposal of sacrificial animal wastes in a hygienic way to keep the city clean, eco-friendly and green by averting environmental pollution.
Marking celebrations of the Eid-ul-Azha festivity, the national flag has been hoisted atop all government and private buildings and improved diets were served to inmates of hospitals, orphanages, jail, vagrant centres and Shishu Paribars.
RpCC has decorated the main streets with the national flag and various colorful flags and banners bearing inscriptions ‘Eid Mubarak’ giving pleasant looks to the city.
