Commerce ministry to write to NBR for sugar import duty cut

If the NBR cuts sugar import duty, the price of the widely consumed sweetener may decline to some extent, the minister said in a statement of the ministry.
However, the minister did not mention when the commerce ministry would send a letter to the NBR.
Munshi said the price of sugar increased in the domestic market due to price hikes in the international market.
He was addressing media after a seminar on “Present Status and Future Prospects of Ayurvedic System of Medicine in Bangladesh” held at the ministry.
