Gono Odhikar Parishad on the verge of split amid infighting

Gono Odhikar Parishad, a newly formed political party in Bangladesh, has been shaken by sacking and counter sacking of its top most leaders.
Gono Odhikar Parishad Member Secretary and former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur and the first Joint Convener Muhammad Rashed Khan along with their followers have relieved the party’s convener Reza Kibria of his post.
Party’s central executive committee took the decision at a meeting held on Monday night at the party’s central office.
The leaders said that the decision was taken due to Reza Kibria’s involvement in anti-party activities.

The meeting also appointed Muhammad Rashed Khan as the acting convener of the party, a press release of the party said.
The meeting was chaired by the party’s Member Secretary Nurul Haque Nur.

Meanwhile, Reza Kibria and his followers on Tuesday sacked Nurul Haque Nur and Rashed Khan from the party.
Sources close to Reza Kibria, said they have taken the decision as the party men became annoyed and frustrated over the allegation of VP Nur’s connection with Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad.
