Right-based civil society leaders on Monday urged for a comprehensive approach to address the Rohingya crisis, focusing on Track-II diplomacy with the participation of civil society members for containing terrorism in the Rohingya community.
In a webinar titled “Rohingya Community and Humanitarian Face of Bangladesh,” organised by Cox’s Bazar based NGO network CCNF in collaboration with COAST Foundation on the eve of World Refugee Day, the key stakeholders emphasized the importance of meaningful dialogue, local participation, and international engagement, according to a press release.
Presided over by Shireen Huq of Naripokkha and moderated by Rezaul Karim Chowdhry, Executive Director of COAST, the webinar shed light on the urgent need for Track-II diplomacy involving civil society in expediting repatriation efforts for the Rohingya community.
The participants called on the international community and developed countries to engage in constructive dialogue with the government of Myanmar.
