Old man burnt in Morrelganj

An old man named Ali Akbor Faraji (70) of village Purbo Baharbunia within Baharbunia Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when his tin shed dwelling huse caught fire in the early hours (at about hours at 2-30 am) of Sunday, according to a report received here.
At the night he was sleeping alone in his house. It is learnt from Abdul Mannan Faraji, the younger brother of deceased Ali Akbor Faraji that he had been suffering from old age complications for long.
His wife had died 3 years ago. His 3 daughters and one son are alive. But none of them used to live with him. At the night the house where he was sleeping caught fire.
On seeing the flame of the fire the neighbouring people rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. But by this time the old man was burnt alive. Md. Ripon Hossain Talukdar, Chairman of the Union told, at the night Ali Akbor was sleeping in his house; but he was burnt alive when it caught fire.
But the causes of the fire yet to ascertained. In this connection Md. Sadekur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told, being informed of the matter a police squad was sent to the spot.
