Mild heat wave may abate at some places

Bangladesh Meteorology Department (BMD) on Sunday predicted the ongoing mild to moderate heat wave may abate at some places in the country, in the next 24 hours commencing 9am on Sunday, reports BSS.
“Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Jashore, Kushtia and Chuadanga and it may abate from some places Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of,” said a Met Office press release.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at many places over Rajshahi, Chattogram and Dhaka divisions and at a few places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” it added.
However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 39.3 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi while today’s minimum temperature 21.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at Rajarhat.
The highest rainfall was recorded 126 mm at Sitakunda in the last 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.
The sun sets at 6:48pm on Sunday and rises at 5:11 am today in the capital.
