Heatstroke hits polutry industries in Ishwardi

Chickens are dying due to heat stroke in Ishwardi Upazila.
Even with various measures including first aid and spraying water in the farm, the death of chickens from heat stroke cannot be prevented.
Egg production has also decreased significantly due to persistently high temperatures. Eggs are also smaller in size. Load shedding has increased exponentially. The temperature has fluctuated between 36 and 40.2 degrees Celsius for the past 15 days. Although it has rained in different parts of the country in the last two days, there was no rain in Ishwardi till Sunday. It has affected people’s lives and farms as well. Farm chickens are dying due to heat intensity. In this situation, the affected farmers are vacating the farm by selling chicken at a low price. According to Livestock Office data, there are 451 registered poultry farms in Ishwardi. Breeder seven, broiler 218 and layer 226. The number of unregistered farms is more than five hundred.

Farmers say chickens are dying every day due to fire. Chicken mortality increased due to increased loadshedding. Even taking medicine and sprinkling water is of no use. 260 Tk color bird at Tk 200, Tk 210 broiler at Tk 170 wholesale price.
The owner of Ahad Poultry Farm in Muladuli said that there were 1000 broiler chickens in the farm. Hundreds of chickens died of heatstroke. It is not possible to kill the chicken from heatstroke, so I sold it at a low price. I have lost a lot of money due to fraud.

Safar Biswas of Shahnaz Poultry Farm in Bagbaria Paschimpara village of Dashuria said that there are 3500 chickens in the farm. 2 thousand 250 chickens lay eggs. 2 thousand 190 to 2 thousand 210 eggs were collected daily from the farm. Egg production has decreased due to fire. Now 1 thousand 850 eggs are produced. 50 chickens have died in the last seven days.
General Secretary of Pabna District Poultry Farm Association and Bangabandhu Krishi Padak farmer Akmal Hossain said that broiler chickens have died the most due to frequent loadshedding with fire. Egg production also decreased. Dabdah farmers have suffered huge losses this time.
