US nationals highest spenders among foreigners in Bangladesh

The US nationals spend the most through credit card in Bangladesh as they account for over a quarter of the amount that foreign nationals spent with the payment method in March this year.
The nationals of the North American country spent Tk 61.5 crore in March this year.

The citizens of the United Kingdom were the second highest spenders with TK 28.5 crore, while neighbouring Indians spent Tk 24.6 crore in Bangladesh using credit cards.
The findings were presented at a report of Bangladesh Bank titled ‘An Overview of Credit Card Users Spending Pattern within and outside the Country’ for March 2023. The nationals of Singapore, China, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, UAE, Italy and South Korea are among the other top spenders.
