Army launches tree plantation campaign in Sylhet
Sylhet Bureau :
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 17 Infantry Division and Sylhet Area Commander Major General Chowdhury Mohammad Azizul Haque Hazari inaugurated the 3-month tree plantation programme of the army in Sylhet. He inaugurated the programme by planting a sampling of a Bacul tree in Sylhet cantonment.
Keeping in mind the theme of ‘Planting trees, building a country of healthy generations’, the tree planting program will continue till September 5. During this time, 6 thousand saplings will be planted in Sylhet and Jalalabad cantonment.
During the inauguration of the tree planting program, Brigadier General Md. Jamrul planted saplings in Sylhet cantonment. Mahbub Hasan, Brigadier General Muhammad Humayun Kabir planted the saplings of wood, Brigadier General Md. planted the neem saplings. Mofizul Islam Rashed.
Earlier at 10 am, Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed inaugurated the tree planting program in all the cantonments, all DOHS and Jalsindi housing projects in the country through video teleconference (VTC) by planting a tree sapling in Shaheed Moinul Road area of Dhaka Cantonment.
