Sharks, Shaplapata fish seized

Five mounds of baby-sharks and five Shaplapata fish were seized in Mohipurfishing port under coastal Kalapara upazila of Patuakhalion Sunday.
The seized the seized sharks and Shaplapata fishes were brought to Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Station Nizampur and were buried in the ground in the presence of Arif Hossain, beat officer, Mohipur Range of Forest Department and in presence of the member of the forest department.
Animal Lovers of Patuakhali, a voluntary organization, said seized these prohibited species of fish from a fishing boat on Sunday (June 4) noon in Sluizgate area of Alipore.
Rakayek Hossain, team leader of Kalapara upazila of Animal Lovers of Patuakhali organization, said, “We conduct this operation based on secret information, in which Coast Guard and Forest Department members have assisted us.
The campaign against those who are killing these banned and extinct species will continue.
