Father held for child torturing in Katiadi

A video of a father torturing a five-year-old girl recently went viral on social media.
The incident took place in Katiadi Town of Kishoreganj.
After seeing the video of the torture, the police took action. Later, the councilor of Ward No. 7 of Katiadi Municipality. Mahfuzur Rahman Mithu (35) is the plaintiff, the child’s father Iqbal Hossain (35) and stepmother Mocha. Rabeya filed a case against Akhter (25).
Police have arrested accused Iqbal from Masua Beparipara area of Katiadi on Wednesday night.
The SP in Kishoreganj , Mohammad Russell Sheikh. PPM (Bar) informed the journalists about the matter in a press briefing at Police Office conference room . SP also said,. the incident of torture happened on April 17 around 10:30 am. Iqbal beat the child in different parts of his body with a stick in front of his residence.
At one point he strangled his throat with his foot to kill. Later her sister-in-law (younger sister of the child’s stepmother) went and rescued the child.
Accused Iqbal has married three times, his first wife divorced him due yo abuse.
Later, the councilor became the plaintiff and filed a case at Katiiadi. police station in this connection.
