Hill cutting unabated in Lohagara

The hill cutting and selling is constantly increasing in Lohagara Upazila in Chattogram .
Specially the hills of chamber are being destroyed day by day by hill climbers. The mountain climbers cannot be stopped even after being fined. A hill is being cut into a pond in the night in Naya Para of Bibi Bilar, Ward No. 4 of Charamba Union. On April 5, 2023, Lohagara Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Shahjahan fined Shahidul Islam, who led the campaign, one lakh rupees for cutting the mountain. Locals said that after 15 days of the fine, the mountain was being cut every night without the eyes of the administration.
