Verdicts in false cases will not work: Next polls must be held under caretaker govt: Fakhrul

Staff Reporter :
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said that his party will not turn aside an inch from its demand for an election time caretaker government.
The BNP secretary general reiterated that the next national polls will be held under a caretaker government.

“Despite constant repression and torture, BNP would not move away an inch from its demand for an election time caretaker government,” the BNP leader said while talking to journalists after placing wreath at the grave of party founder late President Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.

Referring to upholding the verdicts against party’s standing committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Chairperson’s Adviser Amanullah Aman and his wife Sabera Aman in separate graft cases by the High Court, Mirza Fakhrul said the ongoing democratic movement can’t be silenced through the judgment. People will realise their rights at any cost.
