Spin Bowling Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Rangana Herath worked for the spinners of Bangladesh at the BCB-NCA Ground, which is adjacent to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Tuesday. Usually the wickets of the matches of the ICC World Cup don’t specially act in favour of spinners. The spinners get extra advantage in the bilateral series in Indian Sub-Continent. But in the matches of World Cup, spinners get seldom extra facilities. So, the Sri Lanka-born Spin Bowling Coach of Bangladesh worked from Monday with the spinners as they can bowl well in any kind of wickets.
After working with the spinners in a two-day long camp, Rangana Herath spoke to the Journalists. The spinners of Bangladesh National Cricket team, High Performance Team and other spinners took part in the two-day long training camp.
Herath said, ” If the conditions will be tough, the spinners have to face challenge. So, we are taking good preparations for the ICC World Cup. We are working for the variations and techniques. If the spinners will not get advantage from the pitch, this preparation will be helpful for them. The spinners can hardly manage advantage from the matches of World Cup.”
The number of spinners will be included according to the conditions. Bangladesh Cricket team will be formed with three pacers and two spinners. But Herath doesn’t think about combinations. He is working to prepare the spinners. The Team Management of Bangladesh will finally form the squad of Bangladesh Cricket team for upcoming World Cup.
Najmul Hossain Shanto bowled well in the last match between Bangladesh and Ireland at Chelmsford in England recently. Mosaddek Hossain also a good part time bowler. Herath wants that Bangladesh team can include part time bowlers in their squad.
Rangana said, ” If the batters can bowl three or four overs, the team will get extra advantage. It is a remarkable option for a team. I want Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy can get chance to bowl.”
