Exchange of views on the killing of mother fish and larvae in Sylhet

A discussion meeting was organized by District Fisheries Officer office, Sylhet on Sunday afternoon in the conference room of the District Commissioner, on conservation of indigenous species of fish in open water bodies in Haor-inhabited areas and killing of mother fish and juveniles during the breeding season.
Sylhet District Fisheries Officer Md. Ahsan Hasib Khan conducted the discussion meeting, presided over by Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md. Mojibor Rahman.
The district fisheries officer said that the fish is one of the country’s great sources. Through this, besides earning foreign exchange, the demand of non-vegetables is met. Fishery resources have become readily available in Bangladesh today due to various steps taken by the government. Brought back endangered native fish. The Department of Fisheries, District Administration, District Police, Naval Police, Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force, Fishermen’s Associations and Organizations have collectively worked with great sincerity to protect the fisheries resources. Therefore, all quarters must work from their respective positions to stop illegal fishing. To protect the fishery resources of the country, we have to fulfill our collective responsibility.
