Police inspector sued for amassing Tk 57.09 lakh illegally

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed a case against police inspector of Dhaka Range Mir Md Abul Kalam Azad for amassing wealth worth Tk 57.09 lakh illegally.
ACC’s Deputy Director Syed Nazrul Islam filed the case with its integrated district office of Dhaka.
According to the case statement, the ACC served a notice to Abul Kalam to submit wealth statement on October 18, 2021.
He submitted the wealth statement in which he declared having wealth worth about Tk 87.66 lakh.
However, the investigation officer found his legal wealth worth about Tk 30.56 lakh.
Abul Kalam mentioned that he got Tk 53.80 lakh from his mother in 2012-13 fiscal but failed to produce any satisfying document in this regard.
