Hotel employee killed in Gournadi bus accident

A hotel employee named Maruf Sardar (28) was killed by a bus while crossing the road near Mahilara bus stand area of the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Gournadi Upazila of Barishal on Monday (May 22) night
Killed Maruf is the son of Muazzam Sardar of Bahadurpur village of the Upazila.
After the accident, the bus driver, supervisor and helper were detained by the locals and handed over to the Highway police.
Gournadi Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Rasul confirming the report.
Eyewitnesses said that Maruf, an employee of a restaurant in Mahilara Bazar, was crossing the road with a van. At this time, a bus going to Barishal hit Maruf.
Later, the locals quickly rescued him with serious injuries and took him to the upazila hospital, where the doctor declared him dead on early Tuesday.
