Rain brings down temperature in capital

After excruciating heat in the morning, the temperature in the capital dropped as few places in the city experienced light rainfall since Tuesday afternoon.

As a result, the sky turned dark as evening even before the sun had set.

Apart from the capital, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department had informed several places of Dhaka division regarding norwester. They also said that the temperature would drop in this rain.

According to the Meteorological Department, the extension of the low pressure is located in West Bengal and adjoining areas.

The forecast for the next 24 hours said that in many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Khulna and Barisal divisions, there may be temporary rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder.

There may also be scattered hailstorms in some parts of the country.

Regarding the heat wave, it is said that mild heat wave is flowing over Madaripur and Pabna districts along with Khulna division and it may decrease in some places. Day and night temperatures may drop slightly across the country.

Meanwhile, Rangpur has received a maximum of 17mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Apart from this, Rajarhat has received 6mm and Dimla 5mm of rain. Regarding the weather conditions for the next three days, rain or thundershowers may continue during this time.

Winds are blowing at 8-12km per hour from south or southeast direction in Dhaka on Tuesday, which may increase to 30-40kmph temporarily in gusty form.
