Seminar on “kidney diseases, hypertension prevention & awareness” held

Kidney Disease Research Group (KDRG) and Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) jointly organized a seminar on “Kidney Diseases, Hypertension and Diabetes- Prevention & Awareness” for the young students of BUHS at Ibrahim Auditorium in BUHS recently.
Professor Dr. Faridul Alam, Vice Chancellor of BUHS, was present as the chief guest in this seminar. The event session was presided over by KDRG advisor, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Arslan.
Prof. Dr. Ayub Ali Chowdhury, Prof. Dr. Sajal Krishna Banerjee and Dr. Tareen Ahmed, member of KDRG, spoke about Kidney Disease, Hypertension and Diabetes at this seminar.
Prof. Dr. Md Zahid Hasan, registrar, BUHS and Prof. Dr. Masud Iqbal, coordinator, KDRG also gave a speech at this event. The incidence of kidney disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, are increasing day by day among the young population. Besides, the risk factors for these diseases such as sedentary lifestyle, reducing physical activity, eating fast food, drinking sugary beverages, smoking and increasing body weight are also rising alarmingly.
Around two hundred participants from different courses of BUHS, mostly the young students, took part in discussions.
