18 more dengue patients hospitalised

A total of 18 more dengue patients have been hospitalised in the last 24 hours till Monday morning across the country.
As per the data of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 16 of the new patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest outside of the capital city.

Earlier on Saturday, the health authorities recorded 29 dengue patients hospitalised in different districts including the capital city.
It showed also that 93 dengue patients, including 73 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
The DGHS has recorded 1,261 dengue cases, 1156 recoveries, and twelve deaths so far this year.

The country recorded 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019. Also, it recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries in 2022.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque earlier warned that the dengue infection may rise in this year.
