Couple found dead in Sirajganj

Police recovered bodies of a man and his wife from a residence in Chowbari Dakkhinpara village of Raydawlatpur union under Kamarkhanda upazila in Sirajganj on Sunday morning.

The couple has been identified as Shafiqul Islam, 22, and his wife Nuri Khatun, 18.
Kamarkhanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nur Nabi confirmed the matter to the media.
Police and local sources said family members recovered the bodies after breaking the main door of their room this morning.

OC Nur Nabi said according to initial investigation, the man committed suicide after killing his wife following a family dispute.
The bodies were sent to Sirajganj 250-bed Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General hospital for autopsy, the police officer added.

The OC further said that DB and CID are investigating the matter along with Thana police. The actual cause of death can be ascertained after the post-mortem report and investigation are completed.
