Couple sentenced to death for killing mother-son in Sylhet

A court in Sylhet on Thursday sentenced a young man and his wife to death for killing a woman and her son in 2018 in the city.
Sylhet Additional Metropolitan Court Judge Noor Alam Bhuiyan handed down the verdict.
The condemned convicts are Yusuf Khan, and his wife housemaid Tania Akter.
Mohammad Zubair Bakhat, public prosecutor of the court, confirmed the matter.
According to the prosecution, on March 30, 2018 in Mirabazar Kharpara area in Sylhet, housemaid Tania Akter and her husband Yusuf Khan Mamun stabbed Rokeya, 45, and her son Rabiul Islam, 16, to death with sharp knives and escaped.
