2 arrested along with copper cables of Rampal Power Plant

Two thieves were arrested along with more than 120 kgs copper cables of Bangladesh-India Friendship coal based Power Plant at Rampal (under Rampal Upazila) in Bagerhat district from the interior of the power plant by a contingent of Rampal Ansar Battalions Camp-3 on Sunday morning, according to a report received here. It was confirmed by Chandan Debnath, Officer-in-charge of the (Rampal) Ansar Battalions Camp-3. He added, acting on secret information that huge quantities of copper cables of the Power Plant will be smuggled in Sunday morning a number of expert members of Rampal Ansar Battalions Camp-3 conducted a raid the power plant, arrested 2 thieves from its interior in the morning in Sunday morning (at about 9-30 am), arrested 2 thieves and recovered more than 120 kgs copper cables, one device used for cutting the coils, 2 smart phones and one self phone worth Tk.2 lakh 5 thousand from their possession. In this connection a case was lodged with Rampal PS.
