Kulaura Union Multipurpose Cooperative Society election was held on Saturday amid great festivities and enthusiasm
In the election, 12 candidates have competed for 4 positions and 6 candidates were elected.

The polling process is going on from 10 am to 3 pm at Liter Star Academy in the city Out of 262 voters in the election, 207 voters exercised their right to vote in a festive manner. After the election at 4 pm
Chief Election Commissioner Soumya Pradeep Bhattacharya Sajal announced the results in front of everyone. Election Commissioner Joynal Abedin Bachchu, Convener of Election Ad Hoc Committee Redwan Ahmad, Member Secretary Shahen Ahmad and others were present. Upazila cooperative officer Sonamuhan Biswas performed the duty of presiding officer in the election.

Md. Abu Taher was elected as president after receiving 126 votes. His nearest rival Azad Miah got 77 votes, Tofail Ahmad Dalim was elected for the post of Vice-President with 127 votes, his nearest rival Tahir Miah got 73 votes, Sufian Ahmad got 112 votes for the post of General Secretary, his nearest rival Shafiq Miah Afian got 71 votes. And Juber Khan got 17 votes.

Md Pongki Mia was re-elected as a member after getting 112 votes, Kawsar Ahmed Nipar got 110 votes and Imran Hossain got 105 votes. Their nearest rivals Md Parvez Rashid got 92 votes and Sajjadur Rahman Saju got 56 votes. Kulaura policemen help to avoid violence and prevent untoward incidents in elections.
