BD to play FIFA friendly match against Cambodia on June 15

Bangladesh will play a FIFA friendly match against Cambodia on June 15 in Cambodia. The SAFF Championship will be held at Bengaluru in India from June 21. Bangladesh will play the FIFA friendly match marking the preparation match of the upcoming SAFF Championship. The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football will come to an end on June 3. The coaching camp of Bangladesh Football team will start on June 4 under supervision of Head Coach Javier Cabrera.

Chairman of the National Team Management Committee and Vice-President of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Nabil Ahmed said on Sunday, ” We discussed to hold the coaching camp in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. But Bangladesh team will take part in SAFF in India. So, our Head Coach wants to stage coaching camp in Dhaka.”

Bangladesh booters will participate in the coaching camp in Bashundhara Arena in the city. During the training camp the footballers will stay near a hotel to the coaching camp. Bangladesh booters will participate in a week-long coaching camp. Then, Bangladesh Football squad will leave the city for Cambodia on June 12. After playing a FIFA friendly match against Cambodia, Bangladesh Football squad will leave Cambodia to take part in the SAFF Championship.

The six teams of South Asian Region will take part in the SAFF Championship. They are: Hosts India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan and Pakistan. Besides, Kuwait will compete in the SAFF Championship. South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) is trying to include another team in the forthcoming SAFF Championship, the most prestigious football meet of this region.

Javier Cabrera said, ” Kuwait are obviously good team. The eighth team may be like them. We shall try to advance match by match.”

Earlier, Bangladesh played two FIFA friendly matches against Seychelles. After that the BPL Football resumed. Javier Cabrera watched the performance of the booters in the ongoing BPL Football. After ending the BPL Football, Cabrera will be finalised the 35-member preliminary squad.
