Metro rail authority identifies the stone pelting building, police search for culprit

The authorities of the Metrorail have identified the building from which stones were pelted at the metro rail in Shewrapara. The building was identified by analyzing the CCTV footage of the rock pelting area.
Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) M A N Siddique confirmed this while talking to the media in the city on Saturday.
Legal action will be taken against whoever pelted stones as the stone-pelting building has been identified by analyzing the nearby CCTV cameras, he said.
On April 30, at approximately 11:30 am, stones were thrown at the metro rail while it was en route from Agargaon to Uttara North station in the Sheorapara area.
As a result, a glass pane was damaged, resulting in a loss of Tk 10 lakh, according to authorities.
Earlier on May 2, the metro rail authorities filed a case with Kafrul Police Station accusing some unknown people for pelting stones on the windows of the metro rail in the capital, which was the first case filed under the Metrorail Act 2015. Md Samiul Kadir, assistant manager (line operation) of Metro Rail Line-6, filed the case accusing several unidentified persons.
According to the case statement, it was alleged that unidentified people threw stones from east side of Kazipara metro rail station on the rail track that broke a window glass of the Uttara-bound metro rail, which estimated damage around Tk one million in the incident.
