PM’s foreign trips’ achievement is ‘zero’: BNP
Staff Reporter :
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has claimed that the achievement of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s current Japan and USA trips is ‘zero.’
“The achievement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s foreign visits is ‘zero.’ They pushed the country towards devastations by their uncontrolled looting,” the BNP Secretary General told journalists after a meeting between Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and BNP’s Liasion Committee at Gulshan in the capital on Wednesday.
Mirza Fakhrul also alleged that the government is telling lies about the loan assistance of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).
“From the very beginning the government has been confusing people by spreading lies. They want to tell people that this visit of the prime minister has been successful,” the BNP leader said.
Mirza Fakhrul said that the government can make people fool once or twice, but not for a long time. The people have understood Awami League’s tricks now.
Replying to a query over the prime minister’s remark that “there is no scope of talks with BNP,” Mirza Fakhrul said, “We did’t want to sit for talks with the government, because our previous experiences show that there is no logic to hold talks with them.”
They tell lies and betray with the nation, he added.
The meeting held at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office was attended by LDP Chairman Col (Retd) Oli Ahmad Bir Bikram and BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan.
Col (Retd) Oli Ahmad said that his party joined with simultaneous movement with BNP only for making the people free from the current regime’s oppression.
“We have joined the agitation not for getting power or to be ministers but only to get the people rid of from the repression of the Awami League government,” he said.
