Speakers at a commemorate meeting: Dr. Zafrullah always worked for the people

Speakers at a commemorate meeting on Sunday said that late freedom fighter Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury always worked for the people of Bangladesh.
They said that establishing Gonosasthaya Hospital, Dr. Zafrullah brought low cost health services among the people. He had a lifelong contribution to the nation.
Since the liberation war in 1971 to the day of his eternal departure, he always thought how to serve the people.
The veteran freedom fighter also brought the medicine industry in the country in high level by the 1982s medicine policy.
The speakers said this at a programme titled ‘Fight for the people oriented health services’ organised by Sasthaya Andolon at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the capital.
Eminent Columnist and Poet Farhad Mazhar presented an article over Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury’s work and contribution to the nation.
Farida Akhter, Joint-Convener of Sasthay Andolon moderated the programme.
Professor Dr. M. Muzaherul Huq, former Advisor of World Health Organisation (WHO), founder Chairman of Dhaka Community Hospital, Professor Dr. Kazi Kamruzzaman, former General Secretary (GS) of Ducsu Dr. Mushtaq Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Environment Association (BELA) Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Professor of Epidemiology of National Heart Foundation Dr. Sohel Reza Chowdhury, Dr. Khandakar Mohibullah, Dr. Manzoor Kadir, Professor Dr. Mejbah Uddin,
Samia Afrin of Naripakkha, Advocate Syed Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, Convener of Sasthaya Andolon, Professor Dr. Rashid-e-Mahbub and Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury’s Wife Shirin Haque and son Baris Hasan Chowdhury, among others, were present in the event.
Farhad Mazhar said that Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury had and contributed emergency health services to door steps of the patients.
Professor Dr. M. Muzaherul Huq said it is hard task to evaluate Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury because he worked throughout of his life for the welfare of the poor people of the country.
