SSC exams began at 10 am with Bangla 1st Paper.

According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 20,72,163 candidates are sitting for this year’s SSC and equivalent exams.

In order to ensure a conducive and peaceful environment, no one except the candidates will be allowed within 200 yards of the exam halls during the SSC exams, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said in a press release on April 27.

Meanwhile, on the first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, a total of 17,192 students were marked absent across the nine general education boards throughout the country.

The Dhaka Board recorded the highest number of absentees, with 4,222 examinees absent on the first day of the SSC exams, Education Ministry’s control room said in a statement on Sunday.

The control room reported that all the education boards held the exams without any untoward incidents.

In a bid to hold the exams peacefully, the Education Ministry and other concerned departments issued a set of rules that must be strictly adhered to by examinees and other individuals involved.

Any failure to comply with these rules will be considered a violation, and appropriate action will be taken accordingly.

On Saturday, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni had emphatically stated that there was no possibility of a question paper leak during the SSC exams. She also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone spreading rumors related to the issue.
