Two killed in Gournadi road accidents

Two people were killed in two separate accidents in Gournadi upazila of Barishal on Wednesday .
Gournadi Fire Service Station officer Akhtar Hossain confirmed the matter.
The deceased are Gautam Dutta (40), a resident of North Chandshi village and Nesar Sardar (55) of Chandrahar village of Gournadi Upazila.
Aktar Hossain said that on Tuesday eveining, two vendors named Gautam and Ratan were going to Torki from Gournadi on rickshaw van. On the way, an unidentified truck rammed the van from behind in the area adjacent to Madina bus stand on the highway and ran away.
Two of them and the van driver, were seriously injured and first admitted to Gournadi Upazila Health Complex. Later Gautam Dutta died onearly Wednesday on way to Barishal for better treatment.
On the other hand, two pedestrians, Nesar Sardar and Sudhir, were seriously injured when they were hit by a motorcycle in Chandrahar Badamtala area on Batajor-Sarikal road on Tuesday evening. The injured were rescued and admitted to Barisal Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital. But at around 2:30 a.m., the injured Nesar Sardar died while undergoing treatment.
