OPINION: Artificial intelligence

Mohammad Faisal :
The progress of artificial intelligence is swiftly increasing, and its influence in society is growing exponentially. Despite the remarkable developments in AI technology, concerns are rising about its potential negative effects. One of the primary concerns is the possibility of AI taking over jobs currently performed by humans, resulting in widespread unemployment. Additionally, there are concerns about biases in AI algorithms that could continue or intensify existing societal inequalities. Furthermore, the use of AI for malicious purposes, such as cybercrime, terrorism, and warfare, is also a significant concern.

AI’s emergence has the potential to provide significant advantages to society, but it also carries significant risks. Addressing these risks proactively and ensuring that AI is developed and employed in a responsible, ethical, and benevolent manner is essential to realising the full potential of this powerful technology and creating a better future for everyone.
