Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team in Lanka

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team reached Sri Lanka on Tuesday to play three-match One Day International (ODI) series and three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka at the different venues in Sri Lanka. Experienced cricketer Salma Khatun and Rumana Ahmed have been ruled out from the squad. Sultana Khatun and Shorna Akter have been included in the ODI squad. Nigar Sultana has retained her captaincy.
The three-match ODI series is the part of ICC Women’s Championship. Pacer Jahanara Alam said, ” Sri Lankan will play in their home grounds. The conditions will favour them. The weather of Sri Lanka is hot now. But it will not be factor for us. Our preparation is good. We have taken a good coaching. I think the matches will be fighting. I hope we shall bring a good result.”
” We are experienced and skilled than them. We want to advance and play a good cricket against them.”
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the first ODI on April 29, the Tigresses will face the hosts in the second ODI on May 2, Bangladesh will meet Sri Lanka in the third ODI on May 4. All the three ODI matches will be held at P Sara Oval. Besides, Bangladesh will play a one-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka Cricket Board President’s XI at Colombo Cricket Club Ground on April 27.
Bangladesh will take on the hosts in the first T20I on May 9, the Tigresses will face Sri Lanka in the second T20I on May 11, Bangladesh will meet the hosts in the third T20I on May 12. All the T20I matches will be held at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground. Besides, Bangladesh will play against Sri Lanka Cricket Board President’s XI in a warm-up T20 match at Colombo Cricket Club Ground on May 7.
