Youth beaten to death in Itna

A young man was beaten to death at Gowara village under Raytuti Union at Itna haor upazila of Kishoreganj on Eid Day (Saturday) over carrom game.
The victim was identified as Ibrahim Mia (22 ) son of Md. Nazmul Islam at Raytuti area in Itna haor upazila.
Quoting locals and Police said, ‘Ibrahim Mia works as a mason in Nimatoli area of Dhaka. Dhan Mia’s son of the same area lives in Nimatoli. Rajan. During his stay there, Rajan had an argument with Ibrahim Mia over the carrom game. They came to their home on the occasion of Eid last Thursday. Ibrahim was going to his in-laws home after Eid prayers on Saturday morning. On the way, 20-25 people including Rajan and his sister-in-law beat and injured Ibrahim. Locals rescued him in critical condition and died on the way to Upazila Health Complex.
Preeti football tournament on the occasion of Eid in Lalmonirhat
Lalmonirhat Correspondent Preeti Football Tournament 23 was held on April 23 at Lohakuchi School and College ground of Kaliganj Upazila on the occasion of Eid, organized by Oliuddin-Meherun Foundation.
In the game, Balaihat Arniban Samavaya Juba Sangha XI defeated Lohakuchi Sabuj Sangha XI by 2-0 to become champions. After the game, Guerrilla leader Shafiqul Islam Kanu, chairman of Oliuddin-Meherun Foundation, awarded trophies and medals to the champion and runner-up teams. Presided over by the Secretary General of the Foundation Dr. Manwarul Islam.
