Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated

The Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Khulna as elsewhere in the country on Saturday with due religious fervor and solemnity.
The main Eid Congregation was held at Khulna Circuit House Ground at 8.00 am in the city.Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Khulna divisional commissioner Zillur Rahman Chowdhury, Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Khandkar Yasir Arefin, and city and district level officials including, leaders of political parties, elites of the city, professionals, and people from all walks of life joined the congregation. Mowlana Muhammad Saleh, Khatib of Town Jame Mosque, conducted the main Eid prayers.
The second main Eid Jamaat was held at City’s Model Jame Mosque, adjacent to Alia Madrasa, at 8.30 am while the third Jamaat was held at 9.30 am at Khulna Town Jame Mosque in the city.
Eid Jamaat were also held in the city and all nine upazilas in the district amid tight security measures, said Khandkar Yasir Arefin, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna.
Main roads were decorated with festoons and flags inscribed with ‘Eid Mubarak’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’.
The other Eid Jamaats were also held on the premises of the city’s Islamabad Eidgah, Khalishpur Eidgah, Alia Madrsa, Baitun Nur Jame Mosque, PTI Jame Mosque, KDA Nirala Jame Mosque, Basupara Eidgah, Iqbal Nagar Jame Mosque, Baitunnur Jame Mosque, Talimul Millat Darul Ulum Jame Mosque, Deana Eidgah, Farazipara Eidgah, Zila Police Line Maidan, Boyra Metropolitan Police Line Maidan, Zoragate C&B Colony Maidan, B L College Maidan, all KCC Wards and all upazila headquarters in Khulna district.
Special and improved diets were also served among the inmates of the different hospitals, jails, Shishu Paribars, orphanages, and vagrant welfare centers of the city and district.
The police administration also took adequate steps and the members of the Police, Rab, Ansar, and other law enforcement agencies were deployed everywhere for the peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Khulna Regional Center of Bangladesh Betar aired special programmes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and local newspapers published special supplements marking the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The city’s children’s park is kept free for the destitute and underprivileged children.
Staff Reporter from Mymensingh reports : The main Eid congregation was held at Anjuman Eidgah ground in Mymensingh city. The second congregation was held at 8:45 am. People rushed to the Eidgah ground before the scheduled time. A special prayer was offered seeking the pleasure of Almighty Allah Rabbul Alamin, peace and prosperity of the country and nation.
Eid prayers were led by Mufti Maulana Abdullah Al Mamun. Minister of State for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed, Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation Ekramul Haque Titu, Divisional Commissioner Shafiqur Reza Biswas, Deputy Commissioner Mostafizar Rahman and leaders of administrative, political and social organizations were present in the prayer.
In addition, Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were held in about two and a half thousand mosques and Eidgah grounds of Mymensingh, including the city’s big mosque, Marcus Mosque, Mymensingh Cantonment, Police Lines, Bangladesh Agricultural University.
Feni Correspondent says: The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr in Feni was held at the oitihashik Mizan Maidan.
Among others, General Secretary of Feni District Awami League, Member of Parliament for Feni two constituencies Nizam Uddin Hazari, District Commissioner of Feni District Abu Salim Mahmudul Hasan, Feni District Police Superintendent Zakir Hasan, Feni Municipality Mayor Nazrul Islam Swapan Miyaji and other dignitaries of the district participated in the prayer.
Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, principal of Feni Alia kamil Madrasah led the Eid prayer.
Gouripur (Mmensingh) Correspondent reports: The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslims was celebrated with solemnity across Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh on Saturday.
It marks the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and prayer. Many Muslims attend communal prayers, listen to a khutba (sermon) and give zakat al-fitr (charity in the form of food) during Eid-al-Fitr.
Meanwhile, many people from different places came to their village homes to celebrate the festival with their near endear ones.
The stage was almost set for smooth holding of Eid prayers in the town of Gouripur and elsewhere. The main Eid congregation was held at Khelar Mathh Eidgah Maidan near the Gouripur Stadium around 9:30 am and the second largest congregation in the town was held at Islamabad Madrasha’s playing ground at 9.00 am being looked after by Gouripur Pourashava. A large number of devotees joined the Eid prayers and prayed for divine blessing for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country.
Freedom Fighter Alhaj Nazim Uddin Ahmed MP, Mayor Syed Rafiqul Islam, politicians and high officials administration joined the main congregation at Khelar Mathh of the town.
However, on Friday morning about three hundred Muslims who are followers to the Sureshuri Mazar at Shariatpur, celebrated their Eid under the leadership of Pir Syed Shahnur Abtab Parvez Nuri at the village of Bahadurpur of this upazila.
BSS from Rajshahi says: The main jamaat (congregation) of Eid-ul-Fitr was held on Shah Makhdum Central Eidgah Maidan in the city on Saturday.
Muhtamim of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali conducted the prayers.
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and senior officials of divisional and district levels, including Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner GSM Jafarullah and Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed, offered their Eid prayers at the main Eid jamaat.
The second and third largest ones were held at Tikapara Eidgah and Shaheb Bazar Zero Point at 8 am and 8.30 am respectively.
Thousands of Musallis at the end of Eid jamaats offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and as well as greater welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Some other big Eid jamaats in the city were held at Rajshahi University, RUET campus, Hatemkha, Stadium Ground, Shalbagan, Alif Lam Meem Bhata Eidgah, Police Line Parade Ground, Mahisbathan Eidgah Math and Upashahar Eidgah Moidan.
Earlier in the morning, streams of people-young, old and children- rushed to their nearest eidgah, mosques and open places to offer the Eid prayers. Around 150 other Eid-ul-Fitr jamaats were held at traditional and temporary venues in the Rajshahi metropolis.
On the other hand, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslims, is being celebrated in Rajshahi city and the adjacent districts with due fervor, joy and solemnity.
Improved diets are being served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails, Shishu Paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres in all districts on the occasion.
Meanwhile, tight security arrangements have been adopted for the Rajshahi city and its adjacent areas for peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Similar reports of Eid congregations were reached here from the districts of Chapainawabganj, Natore, Naogaon, Bogra, Joypurhat, Sirajganj and Pabna in Rajshahi division.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festivity of the Muslims, was celebrated here today amid pleasing weather and tight security measures with due religious solemnity.
The main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation was held at the Central Collectorate Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am with participation of around 30,000 Musollis, including high officials, political leaders and dignitaries of the city.
Judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court Justice Abu Taher Md. Saifur Rahman, Divisional Commissioner Md. Habibur Rahman, Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa with high officials participated in the main Eid congregation.
Besides, leaders of Awami League and other political parties, public representatives, academics, business community leaders, civil society members, professionals, journalists and elite of the city participated in the main congregation.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Commissioner Nure Alam Mina participated in the Eid congregation held at RpMP Police Lines ground while Superintendent of Police Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury took part at the congregation held at Police Lines ground.
Like in the previous years, the two biggest Eid-ul-Fitr congregations of the district were held at Damodarpur Baro Eidgah Maidan and at Taluk Habu Eidgah Maidan with participation of about 50,000 Musollis in each.
The Musollis of all ages, attired in traditional Eid dresses, participated at Eid-ul-Fitr congregations held at different Eidgahs, mosques and grounds in the city, all eight upazilas and three municipalities across the district.
In Rangpur city, major Eid-ul-Fitr congregations were held at Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Rangpur Court Jam-e-Mosque, Munshipara Eidgah, Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Kamal Kachna Jam-e-Mosque, Rangpur Medical College Central Jam-e-Mosque, Sadar Hospital Jam-e-Mosque, Burirhat Central Eidgah, Alamnagar Waqf Mosque, Satmatha Jam-e- Mosque and Dhap Mohammadpur Jam-e-Mosque, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e Mosque and other palaces’ between 7:45 am and 9:30 am.
Outside the city, bigger Eid jamats were held at Mithapukur Central Eidgah, Badarganj Chandamari Keramotia Eidgah, Pirgachha JN High School ground, Kawnia Central Eidgah, Taraganj Chowpathi Eidgah, Pirganj Central Eidgah and Paikan Baro Jumma Mosque ground in Gangachara upazila.
Besides, dozens of Eid-ul-Fitr congregations were held in the local Eidgahs, mosques, open places and grounds at all eight upazila headquarters and rural areas as per locally fixed time schedules between 8:30 am and 10:30 am.
The Musollis offered special munajats at all congregations seeking divine blessings for eternal peace of departed souls of their nearer and dearer ones, continued peace and prosperity of the country, its people and Muslim Ummah and humanity.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police, district police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13, Police Investigation Bureau and other law enforcement and intelligence agencies took adequate measures and ensured peaceful holding of Eid congregations.
The main streets and major buildings and mosques were illuminated and colorfully decorated marking the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
