Extreme temperature: patients from DMCH at gasp for breath

A severe heatwave is sweeping across Dhaka, Faridpur, Manikganj, Pabna, Bagerhat, Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia districts, and a mild to moderate heatwave is making life miserable elsewhere in the country.
People from different corner are facing difficulties to cope up with this excessive heat.
The patients from Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), the largest medical college hospital in the country, are also struggling to survive with this intolerable heat as DMCH is handling over crowded patients with its limited space and facilities.
After increasing the temperature, most of the capital’s public hospitals have flooded by heat related diseases as well as DMCH also. At the DMCH patient’s situation are also fidgets. To get release from this situation they are using hand fan.
Selim Sorder, a patient from Jashore area had been admitted at DMCH one month earlier said, I have been staying one month at DMCH for treatment. The ceiling fan upstairs my bed is not working last few days. After soaring the heat, I requested the authority to repair it, but they denied.
It is really impossible to stay here without fan, he said.
