Pahela Baishakh celebrated

On the occasion of Bengali New Year 1430 celebrations, various programs were organized on the initiative of Shibalaya upazila administration and various socio-cultural organizations on Friday.
The procession organized by Shibalaya upazila administration went out from Tepra upazila Chattar and circled various roads. Many people from different professions participated in it.
UNO Md. Zahidur Rahman presided over the cultural programme organized in the Upazila Parishad Auditorium. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Anishur Rahman Khan, Public Health Engineer Dabir Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Education Officer Abdul Monnaf Khan, Academic Supervisor Rashed Al Mamun, A-League Leader Sudip Ghosh Basu, Journalist Babul Aktar Manjur, among others, spoke.
Local artistes including heroic freedom fighter Manindra Biswas, Munsi Abdus Salam, Sadia Islam Emi, Swadesh Biswas, Sushmita Mondal participated in the interesting cultural program.
Meanwhile, the continued intense heat has created a state of chaos in local life. There is an increase in the number of patients suffering from diarrhea, fever, dysentery etc. in various hospital clinics. From noon to midnight, the intensity of heat rises from 35 to about 40 degrees Celsius. Doctors have advised to avoid sun and stay in cold places and drink more.
Kulaura (Moulvibazar) Correspondent adds: The Bengali New Year 1430 was celebrated in Kulaura on Friday. Different programmes includings rally, discussion meeting and award distribution were held on the occasion of New Year organized by the Upazila Administration and Shishu Academy.
UNO Mahmudur Rahman Khondokar under the chairmanship of and under the direction of journalist Kalyan Prasun Champur, upazila livestock officer Dr. Mithun Sarkar, General Secretary of Upazila Officers Club Dr. Sultan Ahmad, Upazila Education Officer Iftekhayer Hossain Bhuiyan, Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ratan Debnath, Headmaster of Nabin Chandra Government Model High School. Amir Hossain, Upazila Awami League Vice President Aurobindo Ghosh Bindu and Treasurer Khaled Ahmed and Upazila Women Affairs Officer Soumitra Karmakar were present there.
Kulaura Government College Lecturer. Moshiur Rahman and lecturer Jhuma Chakraborty, lecturer of Rajnagar Government College Sajeda Sharmin, General Secretary of Kulaura Press Club. Khaled Parvez Baksh, upazila child Affairs Officer Abul Basar and Municipal Chhatra League President Habibur Rahman Jani were prticipted in the progrmme.
Prizes were distributed among the winners of essay and painting competition at the ceremony. Later the children of Shishu Academy performed a wonderful cultural program.
