Young man sentences to death in Kishoreganj

A court in Kishoreganj recently has sentenced a young man to death for burning rickshaw puller to death by pouring petrol.
The convicted is Shafiqul Islam (29), son of Chand Miah at Shibpur village under Boulay union in Kishoreganj sadar.
The Additional District and Session Judge , Court-1 in Kishoreganj, Jannatul Ferdous Ibn Haque announced the verdict. At the same time a fine of tk.2 lakhs was imposed.
Accused Shafiqul Islam was absconding at the time of the verdict. As the other three accused in the case are minors, their trial the children ‘s court processing. The Public Prosecutor (PP) in Kishoreganj Advocate Omar Farooq Sanju confirmed the matter to matter.
According to the Case Diary (CD) , On September 10, 2015, Shamim was going home in a rickshaw, leaving his brother Farooq Hossain at home. On the way, Abir Hossain Johnny, Md. Alamin, Md. Shafiqul Islam. A few people including Sajan pre-planned Shamim’s way.
Face and eyes and hands tied behind and beaten. At one stage Shamim’s body was poured with petrol and set on fire. Shamim was burnt in the fire.
Locals rescued Shamim and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. On the way to Dhaka for better treatment, Shamim died around 2:30 am on September 11.
Shamim’s uncle Manik Miah filed a murder case in Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station as plaintiff. The OC (Investigation) of Kishoreganj Model Police Station, Mohammad Morshed Zaman filed the chargesheet in the court on March 25, 2016. After a long hearing, he announced the verdict of the case on Wednesday noon.
