Two Brazilians forward Robson and his compatriot Dorielton struck twice each as star-studded Bashundhara Kings registered a facile 4-1 goal win over Fortis Football Club in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football held on Saturday at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.
Apart from Robson and Dorielton’s two goals in the match, Gambian forward Gaira Joof netted a lone goal for Fortis who trailed the first half by 0-2 goals.
Robson put Bashundhara ahead in the 33rd minute and he increased the margin double scoring the second goal in the 45+2nd minute of the match from a spot kick.
After the resumption, Bashundhara Kings continued their onslaught creating number of scoring opportunities and this time Dorielton joined the party scoring the third goal for Bashundhara in the 60th minute and he further widened the margin scoring his second and fourth goal for Bashundhara in the 70th minute of the match.
Joof however pulled one back scoring a lone goal for Fortis FC in the 90+3rd minute of the match.
Bashundhara Kings clearly dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Fortis were totally off-colored, except the day’s lone goal.
The day’s win saw, Bashundhara Kings still maintained top slot in the points table with 34 points from 12 matches while Fortis FC, who stand seventh position in the league’s table remained at their previous credit of 12 points playing the same number of matches
Earlier, in the first phase, Bashundhara Kings defeated Forts FC by 2-0 goal held at Rajshahi district Stadium.
Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club again split point with Bangladesh Police Football Club when their match ended in a 1-1 goal draw in the Bangladesh Premier League Football held on Saturday at Bhasha Shoinik Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.
In the day’s match, Colombian forward Johan Arango scored one goal for Police FC while midfielder Shahriar Emon netted the lone goal for Mohammedan SC.
Police FC went attack early and got reap when Johan Arango opened an account for Police in the 10th minute and they maintained the lead till the first half.
After the breather, Mohammedan however staged a brilliant fight back as Shahriar Emon equalized the margin in the 56th minute of the match.
After that, both the teams however got several scoring chances, but failed to take the lead lacks of proper finishing in the remaining proceeding.
After the day’s outcome, the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan moved to fifth position in the point’s table with 16 points from 12 matches Police FC remained at fourth position in the table with 17 points playing the same number of matches.
Earlier, in the first phase, the two teams split point playing out to a goalless draw held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
