The country has generated a record 15,304 megawatts of electricity at 9:00pm on Thursday.
The production broke the previous record of 14,932MW generated on Wednesday, according to Bangladesh Power Development Board.
On Tuesday, PBD generated record 14,800MW electricity.
The increase in power generation is due to the rise in demand for electricity over the last few days with the rise in temperature, according to the PDB officials.
On Thursday, the highest temperature was recorded in Chuadanga at 41 degree Celsius, says the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Till last month, the country’s electricity demand was hovering between 12,000MW to 12,500MW.
The country’s maximum electricity generation was recorded at 14,782MW on 16 April last year.
At present, the country has 23,482MW grid connected electricity generation capacity.
