Bangladesh ODI squad for Ireland announced

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Sunday the 15-member Bangladesh One Day International (ODI) squad for three-match ODI series against Ireland. The only uncapped player is 21-year-old left-arm pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury.
The ODI series is the part of ICC World Cup Super League. The three ODI matches will be held at the Cloud County Ground in Chelmsford of UK.
Bangladesh will take on Ireland in the first ODI match on May 9, the Tigers will face Ireland in the second ODI match on May12, Bangladesh will meet Ireland in the third ODI on 14.
Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed was not included in the squad due to injury. Taskin Ahmed was ruled out from squad in the recently concluded lone Test match against Ireland due to injury. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed was dropped from the squad. Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam have been included in the squad.
Mrittunjoy Chowdhury are taking part in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited. He has already played seven matches for this year’s DPL. He captured nine wickets with an average of 27.88. His best bowling figure is 3/31. He was included in the Bangladesh Under-19 squad in ICC Under-19 World Cup 2020. But he could not take part in the World Cup due to injury. Bangladesh emerged champions in the ICC World Cup. Shoriful Islam took part in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Ireland and also played the lone Test match against Ireland. Taijul Islam will be the replacement of Nasum Ahmed. Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das and Mustafizur Rahman have been included in the ODI squad. Mustafizur Rahman is now staying in India to play in Indian Premier League (IPL) for Delhi Capitals, while Litton Das will play in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. They will return in Dhaka before Bangladesh Cricket team will leave Dhaka for Ireland.
Yasir Ali and Rony Talukdar have been included in the squad.
The players, who have been chosen, are: Tamim Iqbal (Captain), Litton Das, Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Yasir Ali, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury.
