Quick measures to identify risky markets: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that measures will be taken quickly after identifying the risky markets of the capital. He said that the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will take a logical decision to build a modern and safe market regarding the rehabilitation of the victim traders in Bangabazar.
The minister said these things in response to a question from journalists after visiting the burnt Bangabazar on Wednesday afternoon.
Addressing the businessmen, he said that targeting the upcoming Eid, the traders took money from friends and relatives and stored up various goods for selling. “But everything was destroyed in a horrific fire. The prime minister has monitored the fire incident and she will take decisions on how to assist the loser and victim businessmen,” Kamal added.
Narrating the incident, home minister said when the fire broke out at 6:10 am, within two to three minutes, the Fire Service units rushed to the spot and started working to control the blaze of fire.
