Autistic children can contribute to national development

The autistic children can contribute to society and national development If get good care and necessary assistance . The opinion came in a discussion in Rangpur on Sunday at Deputy Commissioner Conference Room in observance of the 16th World Autism Awareness Day with the theme of ‘Transformation: Toward a Neuro-Inclusive World for All.’
The District Administration and Department of Social Services (DSS) in association with different non-governmental organisations (NGOs) chalked out programmes to observe the day. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen attended the discussion as the chief guest with Deputy Director of the DSS, Rangpur Md. Abdul Matin in the chair.
Civil Surgeon of Rangpur Dr. Md., Jahangir Kabir and Additional Divisional Director of the DSS Md. Mossarraf Hossain spoke as special guests. Abdul Matin discussed the present situation on autism in the country and various pragmatic steps taken by the present government to ensure development and welfare of autistic children and autism spectrum disorder population to turn them into able citizens.
The speakers said access to technology is crucial for improving lives of the people living with any form of disability like autism, ensuring their basic human rights and eliminating obstructions they face in living as an integral part of the mainstream society.
Sr. Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj reports : Proper care, nurture and ensuring necessary opportunities can be the crucial means of flourishing latent talents of the autistic and mentally retarded children. Simultaneously, utmost emphasis should be given on creating adequate awareness among the pregnant mothers and parents for building a healthier society through reducing the risks of autism and physical disability of newborn babies.
The observation came at a participatory discussion at local Collectorate Conference Hall on Sunday noon. Theme of the day this year is Transformation : Toward a Neuro inclusive World for All. Deputy Conference (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad attended as chief guest and ADC (Revenue) & DS Md. Nuruzzaman , Civil Surgeon (CS)dr.Saiful Islam and Additional SP (Admin & Finance) Mustaque Sarker special guests, while Deputy Director in Social Services Md. Kamruzzaman khan presided over. It has also cited various government steps for ensuring welfare of the autistic and physically challenged children.
DC Abul Kalam Azad said, all government and non-government entities concerned should come forward and work together to ensure fundamental rights of the people with special needs through using modern technologies.
Netrakona Correspondent says: The World Autism Awareness Day-2023 was observed in Netrakona on Sunday.
In 2008, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared April 2 as the World Autism Awareness Day to highlight the needs to help improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from the disorder.
To mark the day, Netrakona District Administration and District Social Service Department jointly organized a discussion at District Social Service Department Conference Room .
Chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (general)in Netrakona Mamun Khandaker, the meeting was addressed, among others, by deputy director of district social service department Mohammad Alal Uddin, chairman of Netrakona sader upazila Ataur Rahman Manik, additional police super Lutfur Rahman, penal chairman of Netrakona municipality SM Mahosin Alam, principal of Rajur Bazer Collegiate School Golam Mustafa and Dr. Rejaul Karim.
The meeting was followed by an hour long discussion on the overall situation on autism and disabilities in the district as well as in the country.
The speakers underlined the need for taking special care and nurture for flourishing talents of autistic and mentally retarded children side by side with ensuring their fundamental rights in the society. Guardians of the autistic and mentally retarded children, local public representatives, NGO workers, civil society members, teachers and students were present in the meeting.
Manikganj Coprrespondent adds: The 16th World Autism Day was observed in Mnaikganj under the joint auspices of Manikganj District Administration, District Social Service Office and Disabled Service and Help Center Sunday. To mark the day, a discussion was held at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner (DC).
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Abdul Latif addressed the function as the chief guest with Deputy Director of Social Service Mohammad Joarder Mohiuddin in he chair.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Quamrul Hasan, Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Sanwarul Haque, Chief Executive Officer Manikganj District Council Durre Shahwaj, Mayor of Manikganj Municipality Md. Ramjan Ali and Manikganj Press Club President Golam Sarwar Sanu, among others, spoke on the occasion.
