Initiative taken to distribute tabs
An initiative has been taken to distribute tabs among the meritorious students who are reading in class nine and 10 of their respective high schools and Madrashas of the district as recognition for their brilliant results.
The tabs would be distributed to the students as the gift of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina through the Statistics Department in cooperation with district and upazila Parishad and education offices.
On Wednesday, DC in Kishoreganj Md. Abul Kalam Azad formally inaugurated distributing tabs among the 24 meritorious students of class nine and 10 at local Collectorate Conference hall, while ADC (Education & ICT) Farzana Khanam presided over the programme.
Deputy Director (DD) of Statistics Sayed Ahamed, Sadar UNO Mohammad Ali Siddique and District Education Officer (DEO) Shamsunnahar were special guests.
It was address among others by Senior Journalist and CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito and District Press Club president Mostafa Kamal Deputy Director of Statistics Department Sayed Ahamed said at least 1452 tabs would be distributed to the meritorious students of high schools and Madrashas in 13 upazilas of Kishoreganj under Population Census and Household Census Project-2021.
DC Abul Kalam Azad said the tabs are gifts of PM Sheikh Hasina to the students. The state attained the modern device as they obtained brilliant results in classes teachers and guardians will monitor the students.
Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito said, the tabs would help the students to acquire knowledge properly.
Lightning kills businessman
A businessman has died due to lightning in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj on Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Mehadi Hasan (24), son of Moqbul Hossion in Zangalia village of Pakundia upazila.
His body was recovered from the roadside on Friday morning.Zangalia Union Parishad(UP) Chairman Bulbul Ahamed said that, trader Mehdi Hasan died due to lightning sometime during the night on his way back from the business house in New Bazaar, Pakundia. The body was found to have died due to lightning. When contact to the Officer-in-charge (OC) in Pakundia police station., Sarwar Jahan told that, receiving on information, Mahedi’s body was found by local residents on the side of the road from Jangalia Bazaar on Friday morning. Police recovered the body and brought it to the police station. A UD case has been registered in this incident. The process of handing over the body to the family mambas.
 Man beaten to death, 3 held
 A security guard named Abu Bakkar Miah (52) was beaten to death due to the attack of a pet dog on a goat on Thursday evening.
The injured man was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital while duty doctors declared him brought dead. The Vicyim’s Abu Bakkar Miah at Islampur village under Kadirjungal union in Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj. He was working as a security guard at Medilab Health Center in Kishoreganj town.
According to locals and polic , Alamin’s pet dog of the same village bit Abu Bakr’s goat on Wednesday. Abu Bakr took the trial to Alamin. But both of them got into an argument. At one point, Alamin, Raihan and Bakkar and his relatives attacked Abu Bakkar with sticks.
