Bangladesh retain Bangabandhu International Kabaddi title

Bangladesh retained the title of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament defeating Chinese Taipei by 42-28 points in the final at the Shaheed Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium on Tuesday. It is for the consecutive third time Bangladesh captured the trophy of the Bangabandhu Cup International Cup Kabaddi Tournament. It is the third edition of the gala extravaganza of the kabaddi meet. Bangladesh made a hat-trick to clinch this years coveted title. Earlier, Bangladesh claimed the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament 2021. Bangladesh also bagged the prestigious kabaddi title in 2022.
Bangladesh led the first half by 20-14 points.
Chinese Taipei advanced for the first time with 5-4 points. They also led by 9-8 pints in the second time. But Chinese Taipei failed to hold their lead. Spirited Bangladesh collected points one after another. Besides, they restricted Chinese Taipei to by raid them. Thus, Chinese Taipei failed to break Bangladesh’s supremacy. Mizanur Rahman of Bangladesh was adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
A total of 12 teams from South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Europe, took part in this year’s Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament. Hosts, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal from South Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Chinese Taipei from South East Asia, Iraq from Middle East, Kenya from Africa, Argentina from Latin America, Poland, England from Europe competed in the prestigious kabaddi competition.
