Labourer killed in Mongla Port Pashur channel

A labourer named Naim Dewan (28) of a hired dredger met his tragic end when he was splashed into the Pashur channel of Mongla Sea Port near at its jetty No.5 along with a propeller (of the dredger) on Saturday afternoon, according to a delayed report received here. The dead body of ill-fated Naim Dewan which was twisted with the propeller (of the dredger) was recovered from the channel at Saturday night at about 8 pm by the workers of the local Fire Service unit.
Md. Arshed Ali, Senior Officer of Mongla EPZ Fire Service and Civil Defence Office confirmed the matter and told, deceased Naim Dewan hailed from Munshiganj district used to serve a private dredger named; CSD Bokhari’ hired by Mongla Port authorities for dredging work of the Pashu channel near at jetty No. 5 as a day loburer.
