Interpol accepts red notice against Arav Khan: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that the relationship of a senior former police officer with Dubai gold trader Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan is being investigated.
He said this in response to various questions from journalists after inaugurating the Enayet Bazar Police Outpost of Kotwali Police Station of Chittagong Metropolitan Police on Monday afternoon.
When asked about the relationship of a former senior police officer with Arav Khan, the IGP said, “We are looking into the matter of a senior police officer. We will let you know at the appropriate time. National cricket team Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan, actress Dighi and YouTube content creator Hero Alam went to inaugurate Arav Khan’s gold shop in Dubai on March 15.
IGP also said that the Interpol has already accepted the Red Notice letter sent by Bangladesh Police to bring back Arav Khan, the absconding accused in a case filed over the murder of Special Branch (SB) Police Inspector Mamun Imran Khan.
Earlier, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that Interpol’s help has been sought to bring Arav back from Dubai.
Arav Khan, a gold trader, came to limelight following media reports that cricketer Shakib Al Hasan was visiting Dubai to attend the inauguration programme of his jewellery shop in Dubai.
It is known that Arav Khan is one of the accused in the murder case of police officer Mamun Imran Khan in Dhaka. Arav ‘s real name is Rabiul Islam. After being accused in a police case, he fled and took refuge in India.
From the slums there, he went to Dubai on an Indian passport. News came out, Arav Khan went to Dubai under the umbrella of a former senior police officer.
