Rooppur nuclear equipment arrived at Mongla port

Another ship carrying Russian equipment for Rooppur nuclear power project has arrived at Mongla seaport recently. The ship ‘MV Aparajita’ has delivered around 200 tons of industrial equipment to the port. Rosatom, the contractor building the Rooppur nuclear power plant, reported the arrival of Russian equipment on Thursday (March 16) night.
This consignment of machinery will reach Rooppur project area within this month. It should be noted that two ships delivered more than 2,700 tons of equipment to Mongla port in February.
ASE Vice President and Russian Director of the Rooppur NPP construction project, Alexey Deiri, said that due to the arrival of all these plants and other goods, it will be possible to complete the necessary preparations for the phasing of the safety system of the reactor of the first unit in the open state.
General Designer and Contactor of Rooppur Nuclear Power Project Engineering Branch of Russia’s Rosatom Corporation. The project will have two units, each with a generating capacity of 1,200 MW. Each unit has 3 generation Russian VVER reactors, which are capable of meeting all international safety requirements.
