All set to celebrate Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary

All preparations have been completed to celebrate the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day-2023 here with daylong programs Friday.
The district administration with different government and non-governmental institutions and organisations, Awami League (AL), Rangpur City Corporation, have taken up colorful programs to celebrate the 103rd birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
Official sources said tight security measures would be ensured in celebrating the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu in the city, upazila headquarters and across the district.
The national flag will be hoisted atop all government, semi-government and private buildings.
The celebration will begin with placing of wreaths at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Square near the DC Mour at 9 am Friday. The divisional and district level high-ranking government officials, Mayor of Rangpur and District Council Chairman will place wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu followed by giving a guard of honour there by a smart contingent of police forces.
Later, heroic freedom fighters, leaders of different political parties including Awami League and its associate bodies, heads of different departments, organisations and institutions and common people will place wreaths there.
Special steps will be taken to enable children to place wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu separately in a hassle-free manner.
One-hundred and three children will render the national anthem with hoisting of the national flag at the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the city. A colorful rally with participation of government officials, politicians, civil society members, sociocultural activists and people from all walks of life will be brought out from the Zila School premises to the Town Hall premises in the city at 9:45 am.
Similar rallies will be brought out on the streets in different upazila headquarters in the district.
Improved diets and sweets will be served to inmates of different hospitals, orphanages, Government Shishu Paribars, Rangpur Central Jail, vagabond centres and children centres at noon.
After the Johr prayers or at convenient times, special munajats and prayers will be offered at District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre and all other mosques, temples, churches and pagodas seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Bangabandhu and continuous peace and prosperity of the nation.
The Divisional Information Office will screen short and documentary films on the life of Bangabandhu and Great War of Liberation and play the historic March 7 speech at cinema halls and other important places of the city.
Marking the day, the DC Mour, ‘Muktijuddher Smritistambha ‘Arjan’ at Modern Mour and Shapla Square areas in the city will be illuminated and decorated with colorful banners and festoons.
Competitions on essay writing, drawing, poem recitation for children will be arranged at District Shishu Academy premises in the city.
BSS from Rajshahi, adds: Rajshahi people are now ready to celebrate the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day in the city and the district in a befitting manner on Friday.
Divisional and District Administrations, Awami League (AL), its associate organizations, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishor Mela, different socio-cultural and children organizations have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the day.
The daylong programmes will begin with hoisting of national flags atop all public and private buildings at dawn.
At 9 am, various government and non-government organizations, social and cultural bodies, valiant Freedom Fighters and politicians will place wreaths at the murals of Bangabandhu at various places, including Luxmipur crossing.
Birthday cake-cutting function, discussion meeting, prize distribution and cultural programme will also be held at Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
Special prayers will be offered seeking divine blessings for Bangabandhu, four national leaders and martyrs of the War of Liberation and peace and progress of the nation at mosques, temples, pagodas, churches and other places of worship.
Educational institutions will arrange discussions, essay competitions and cultural programmes.
The District Information Office will screen video footage and clippings on life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at different road crossings in the city.
Improved diets will be served to the inmates of all hospitals, upazila health complexes, jails, vagabond centres, shishu paribar and orphanages besides distributing sweetmeats among them.
Meanwhile, Rajshahi City Corporation has taken elaborate programmes including cleanliness drives and making decoration and beautification to observe the day.
The upazila administrations will celebrate the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation and National Children Day-2023 through similar programmes.
