Bangladesh whitewash world champion England in T20s

Highly motivated Bangladesh whitewashed England by 3-0 in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series after beating the tourists by 16 runs in the third T20I at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh piled up a mammoth total of 158 for the loss of two wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then, restricted England to 142 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. The hosts defeated the touring side’s by six wickets in the first T20I at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on March 9. The Tigers beat the Lions by four wickets in the second T20I at the SBNCS on March 12.
Bangladesh had a solid start with two openers Litton Das and Rony Talukdar put on together 55 runs in the opening stand before Rony was caught & bowled by Adil Rashid.
After Rony’s dismissal, Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto built a worthy partnership. They scored together 84 runs in the second wicket stand before Litton was caught at deep midwicket by Phil Salt off Chris Jordan when the Tigers’ total was 139 for the loss of two wickets.
Litton hit a superb 73. His 57-ball innings was belted with 10 fours and a sixer. It is Litton’s career best innings in the T20I match. Litton reached his fifty-run land mark using 41 deliveries with eight fours. Litton was adjudged the Man of the Match for his terrific innings.
After Litton’s departure, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan added 19 runs for the unbroken third wicket partnership before Bangladesh’s innings came to an end.Shanto remained unbeaten with 47. His 36-ball knock saw two sixes and a four.
Earlier, Rony made 24 from 22 balls featuring three fours.
Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid took one wicket each instead of 21 and 23 runs respectively.
Later, debutante Tanvir Islam gave his team early breakthrough as opener Phil Salt (0) was stumped out by wicketkeeper Litton Das of the left-arm spinner when England’s score was just five.
After Salt’s dismissal, opener Dawid Malan and one-down Jos Buttler repaired the damage adding together 95 runs in the second wicket stand before Malan was caught behind by wicketkeeper Litton Das off Mustafizur Rahman when the visitors’ total was 100 for the loss of two wickets.
Malan hit a fine 53. His 47-ball innings saw six fours and two sixes.
Buttler could stay at the crease for a short period as he was run out by Mehidy Hasan Miraz when the touring side’s score was 100 for the loss of three wickets.
Buttler struck a polished 40. His 31-ball innings had four fours and a sixer.
After Buttlers dismissal, England batters failed to build any notable partnership against the tight, controlled and superb bowling attack of Bangladesh.
Taskin Ahmed bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 26 runs, while Mustafizur Rahman, Tanvir Islam and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each for 14, 17 and 30 runs respectively.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Tuesday it will give a handsome money (Taka three crore or Taka five crore) to Bangladesh Cricket team for their historic victory.
